LEG STRAPS
Storing the leg straps as described here will keep them
out of the way while sliding the KED between the
patient and the vehicle seat, yet readily available when
you want to use them.
Leave the leg straps in their stored position in situations
where you choose not to use them.
Store both leg straps as follows:
1. Lengthen the leg strap until about six inches of
webbing have not passed backward through the
buckle slide.
2. Beginning at the point where the strap is attached
to the KED, fold the strap down around the bottom
edge of the KED then up and around the inside of
the KED (Figure 51).
3. Turn the buckle under to rest flush against the
webbing and secure the strap in place by pressing
its hook-and-loop fastening strip against a
fastening strip on the outside of the KED (Figure
52)
