Handle accessories carefully and store them
according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Damaged accessories can form cracks and break
off during operation.
The rated speed of the accessory must be at least
equal to the maximum speed marked on the power
tool.
Accessories running faster than their rated
speed can fly apart.
Wheels must be used only for recommended appli-
cations. For example: do not grind with cutting
wheels.
Abrasive cutting wheels are intended for
peripheral grinding; side forces applied to these
wheels may cause them to shatter.
Do not use accessories which are not specifically
designed and recommended by the power tool
manufacturer.
Safe operation is not ensured
merely because an accessory fits your power
tool.
Do not use accessories that require liquid cool-
ants.
Using water and other liquid coolants may
result in electrocution or shock injuries.
The outside diameter and the thickness of your
accessory must be within the capacity rating of
your power tool.
Incorrectly sized accessories
cannot be adequately guarded or controlled.
The arbor size of wheels, flanges, backing pads or
any other accessory must properly fit the spindle
of the power tool.
Accessories with arbor holes
that do not match the spindle of the power tool
will run out of balance, vibrate excessively and
may cause loss of control.
Do not use worn down wheels from larger power
tools.
A wheel intended for a larger power tool
is not suitable for the higher speed of a smaller
power tool and may fly apart during operation.
Do not use a damaged accessory. Before each use
inspect the accessories such as abrasive wheels
for chips and cracks, backing pads for cracks,
tears or excess wear and wire brush for loose or
broken wires. If the power tool or the accessory is
dropped, inspect for damage or install an undam-
aged accessory. After inspecting and installing an
accessory, position yourself and bystanders away
from the plane of the rotating accessory and run
the power tool at maximum no-load speed for one
minute.
Damaged accessories will normally
break apart during this test time.
Make absolutely sure that the accessory is
mounted in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions. The mounted accessory must be able
to rotate freely.
Incorrectly mounted accessories
can loosen during operation and fly off.
Always use an undamaged wheel flange of the
correct size and shape for your selected wheel.
Proper wheel flanges support the wheel, thus
reducing the danger of wheel breakage. Flanges
for cutting wheels may be different from grind-
ing wheel flanges.
Always work using the auxiliary handle.
The aux-
iliary handle ensures reliable guidance of the
power tool.
Use only wheel types that are recommended for
your power tool and the specific guard designed
for the selected wheel.
Wheels for which this
power tool was not designed cannot be ade-
quately guarded and are unsafe.
Always use the guard designed for the type of
wheel you are using. The guard must be securely
attached to the angle grinder and positioned for
maximum safety. It must be mounted in the safest
possible position, such that the least amount of
wheel is exposed towards the operator.
The guard
helps to protect the operator from broken
wheel fragments and accidental contact with the
wheel.
Clean the ventilation openings on the power tool at
regular intervals. The motor blower draws dust
into the housing.
An excessive accumulation of
metallic dust can cause an electrical hazard.
Do not operate the power tool near flammable
materials.
Sparks could ignite these materials.
Keep bystanders away from the working area.
Anyone entering the working area must wear per-
sonal protective clothing/equipment.
Fragments
of the work piece or broken wheels can fly out
and also cause injuries to persons outside the
actual working area.
Conduct the mains lead away from the rotating
wheel.
If you lose control over the power tool,
the mains lead could be cut through or caught,
thereby drawing your hand or your arm into the
rotating wheel.
