MAINTENANCE
GEARSHIFT ADJUSTMENT
If the NEUTRAL position of the gearshift does not match that of the
gearbox, adjust the gearshift as follows:
1. Stop the engine.
2. Unscrew the adjusting nut from the clutch lever (Figure 21).
3. Make sure that the gearshift is in NEUTRAL position.
4. Push the device. Make sure that the gearbox is in NEUTRAL
position.
5. In order to align the adjusting nut with the cavity in the clutch
lever , screw the adjusting nut .
6. Screw the adjusting nut to the clutch lever .
7. Make sure that the NEUTRAL position of the gearshift corresponds
to that of the gearbox.

BATTERY MAINTENANCE
BATTERY REMOVAL
1. Remove the battery before charging.
2. To charge the battery use a 12-volt charger. Charge at a rate of 6 amps
per hour.
3. Reinstall the battery .
In order to charge or clean the battery, remove it from the unit as
follows:
CAUTION: to reduce the risk of sparks, disconnect the
black cable from the battery from the negative (-)
terminal, before disconnecting the red cable.
CAUTION: the battery contains sulphuric acid harmful
to the skin, eyes and clothing. If acid comes into
contact with body or clothing, wash with plenty of
water. CAUTION: to avoid the risk of sparks, connect the red cable
to the positive (+) terminal before connecting the black
cable.
4. Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminal with the clips as
follows.
5. Connect the black cable to the negative (-) terminal with the clips as
follows.
1. Disconnect the black cable from the negative ( - ) terminal (Figure
22).
2. Disconnect the red cable from the positive terminal (+).
3. In order to disconnect the battery clip from its holder , push the
holder towards the lowest end of the clip.
4. Remove the battery from the right side of the unit.
CLEAN THE BATTERY
1. Remove the battery .
2. Clean the battery with a solution of 3.78 litres of water and four
tablets of sodium bicarbonate. Make sure that the solution does not
penetrate the battery cells.
3. Clean the terminals and the cable ends with a wire brush.
4. Reinstall the battery .
5. To prevent corrosion, apply grease to the battery terminals .
CHARGING THE BATTERY
CAUTION: When charging the battery, do not film. Keep
the battery away from sparks. Sulfuric acid vapours can
cause an explosion.
