Installation Instruction:
1. Begin by removing the original air cleaner from your throttle body or carburetor. Be sure to remove the
entire original base gasket to prevent an air leak after installing the new air cleaner assembly.
2. The new FAST™ Air Cleaner should have come with the solid rubber grommet installed in the small
hole of the air cleaner base. If a crankcase breather line is to be utilized, remove this plug and install the
supplied 90
°
elbow, nylon washer and nylon nut as shown in the figure below.
3. Install the new base gasket over the throttle body or carburetor.
4. Place the air cleaner base onto the throttle body or carburetor. Make certain that the arrow cast into the
air cleaner base is pointing towards the front of the engine to properly align the air cleaner assembly, as
seen in the figure below.
NOTE: The FAST™ Air Cleaner is designed to sit on the throttle body or carburetor without any
spacer. If a spacer is to be used, a longer ¼-20 bolt for the air cleaner will have to be sourced.
5. Place the filter onto the air cleaner base. The word “FRONT” is molded into the rubber sealing flange of
the filter. Align this marking with the arrow on the base that is pointed towards the front of the engine as
seen in the above figure.
6. Place the air cleaner lid on top of the filter. The stripes will run in the same direction as the arrow on the
base.
