FARO Laser Scanner Photon – User’s Manual
28 / 87
Please note that the Clear Sky and Clear Contour feature are only available
on Photon 120 scanners and on Photon 20 scanners that have been
manufactured since May 2009. On other scanners this feature will not be
selectable.
Size
: Shows the size of the scan in points horizontally x vertically. The
vertical size may only be changed by setting a new resolution or by changing
the scan area angle. It is recommended to leave the horizontal size
untouched, in order to get a 1:1 points' ratio.
Scan Time, File Size
– Expected scan time and file size according to the
resolution, X-Control value, and scan range chosen. Please note that the
scan time shown here is the net scan time. Pre- and post processing of the
scanner like the search for its home position is not taken into account.
Eye Safety Distance
- Depending on the selected resolution and on the
selected X-Control setting, a minimum eye safety distance has to be
observed to prevent eye damage, if the laser beam is observed directly
without laser safety glasses.
Please note that the eye safety distance is not only dependent on the
selected resolution but also on the X-Control setting. In the table below you
will find the eye safety distances for all possible resolution and X-Control
combinations. For further information on the eye safety distance please refer
also to chapter 2.3.
