Taped specific CTs
In the case of SIA-B, the necessary current to perform the testing is provided through the no
conventional current transformers. These CTs have a pass-through hole (from P1 to P2 in the picture
blow) for primary current measurement, 2 terminals (S1 and S2 in the picture below) for secondary
current measurement and power supply for the relay and 2 terminals (C and D in the picture below) to
perform the testing:
Example with a current injector:
The testing consists on the injection of 1A in these last terminals providing a simulated primary current
value. These primary values depend on the CT type:

The correct measurement of these values in the relay guarantees that the whole current range will be
measured.
