If the battery voltage drops below a minimum value,
the device switches off as continued use of the naviga-
tion device could damage the battery. In this situation,
the device cannot be switched on via the on/off switch
either. To be able to switch the device on again, you
need to charge it up with the aid of a car charger cable
or a separate power adapter.
Attaching the power charger cable
(optional)
Attach the power adapter to charge up the battery of
your device. To do this, you need to connect the thin
end of the power adapter to the input on the bottom
of the navigation device and plug the thick end into a
plug socket.
During the charging process, the battery charger in-
dicator glows red. When the battery is charged, the
indicator switches to white.
If your battery is fully discharged, it needs to be
charged up for at least a few minutes before you can
switch the device back on again.
Attaching the car charger cable
You attach the car charger cable by plugging the thin
end into the USB input on the bottom of the device
and the end which resembles a pistol into the input of
the cigarette lighter in your car.
In addition, you should pull on the lug located on the
suction cup to release the mounting bracket.
Switching the device on/off
The standard way to switch the device on and off is to
press the on/off switch , which is located on the top
of the device.
Please ensure that the device is charged up before-
hand or is being supplied with power at this moment.

To protect your device against voltage spikes, you
should only attach the car charger cable once the vehi-
cle has already been started up.
Charging up via the PC USB socket
Your navigation device can also be charged up via your
PC. To do this, connect it via the USB cable which is
also supplied to your PC (e.g. for data transfer) and
ensure that the main power switch is set to “On”.
Attaching the TMC dipole antenna -
receiving reports of traffi c jams
The M-Series products come with an internal TMC
module.
However, you are strongly urged to connect the TMC
dipole antenna for
better
reception of reports of traffi c
jams in areas with poor TMC coverage.
To do this, you need to insert the antenna cable into the
opening provided for it on the bottom of the device .
Then use the suction cups to attach the antenna cable
vertically on the windscreen. The cable should be as
taut as possible between the suction cups in order to
allow optimum reception.
