OPERATING
GB
The iron may smoke slightly when switched on for the first
time - this is normal and will soon cease.
If the iron remains unused for a long period of time (a few
weeks), we suggest that the steam button (10) be pressed
for about 30 seconds with the iron in horizontal position, as
to clean the internal steam ducts, before you start your
ironing session.
It is not necessary to completely fill the boiler tank for short
ironing sessions. One measure (or less) of water is sufficient
as to reduce the waiting time and save electric energy.
Dry ironing
First Operation
To iron without steam ,first connect the appliance to the
mains supply, press the switch(5), then select the desired
temperature by turning the thermostat knob(9).Wait until the
pilot lamp(11) goes off, indicating that the desired
temperature has been reached.
For dry ironing it is not necessary to press the steam
button(10).
Temperature selection
First of all, check if there is a label with ironing instructions
attached to the article to be ironed. Compare the symbol on
the label with the table below.
If ironing instructions are missing, but you are familiar with
the fabric, the table below may help you.
The table refers to fabrics that have been sized. If the
fabrics have not been sized, they may be ironed at a lower
temperature.
Suggestions
Sort the items to be ironed according to the varying fabrics:
wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. Start by ironing the
fabrics that require lower temperatures and progressively
work up to the fabrics that require higher temperatures, as
the iron heats up quicker than it cools down.
At the end of the
ironing session
By pressing switch (4) (5) with the plug inserted into the wall
socket the appliance remains energized. Press steam
button (10) to let out all the residual steam.
Turn off the appliance by pressing button (4) (5).
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
Let the iron cool down by resting it on the stand. When
putting away the appliance, make sure that the power cord
and the electric cables do not touch the hot parts.
