Now connect your phone with a USB cable to your computer
Note: diferent phones brands “react” diferently when they are placed for
example in “fastboot mode”
While some phone brands shows a nice screens when they put in fastboot
mode,
the Fairphone 2 shows a black screen with the text “FAIRPHONE Powered by
Android” when placed in “fastboot mode”
To see in what mode the Fairphone 2 is in, you have to connect the Fairphone 2 with an
USB cable to your computer an type in the terminal:
sudo fastboot devices
To see in what mode your phone is.
(type your password)
Result:
Result is:
“fe1f604 fastboot”
Note:
“fe1f604” is the unique hex signature number of your device
“fastboot” is the modus in which the device has been set
So the device is now successfully been set in “fastboot mode”
Note:
If the answer was: “no permissions”that means that your account doesn't has
enough rights to execute: fastboot
Your account has to be a member of the sudo group or you must have root rights.
