1.3 INTENDED USE

INHALER
Main function:
Humidification of breathing air through inhalation of steam and
medications and other inhalants approved for use in inhalation
therapy.
Medical indication / application:
Humidification of the upper and lower airways.
Specification of the main functions:
Prevention and treatment of diseases of the upper and lower
airways. The aerosol is produced using compressed air. This
enables humidification of the airways.
Application organ:
Upper and lower airways (oral cavity, nasopharyngeal space
and bronchial system).
Duration of application:
Temporary patient use for the purposes of inhalation.
Application environment:
The application environment includes hospitals, doctors‘
practices, nursing facilities and use at home. Where medication
is also used, a physician must determine the respective type
and dosage. Application must only be carried out by medically
trained and briefed persons. Children and patients who require
special assistance should only carry out inhalation under
professional guidance.
Contraindication:
The NEBUFIRST
®
INHALER must not be used:
•
if it is damaged,
•
by unsupervised children,
•
in damp rooms or in the shower/bath,
•
outdoors.
The NEBUFIRST
®
INHALER is an active medical device.
Reprocessing:
The product is intended for repeated use. The accessories are
partly reusable. For information on reprocessing, cleaning and
disinfection, refer to instructions for use (see Section 6.0).

INHALER must not be used:
•
if it is damaged, or in combination with medications and devices that have not been approved for
use in inhalation therapy;
•
in damp rooms, in the shower/bath, or outdoors, or by unsupervised children.

1.2 FUNCTION
•
The NEBUFIRST
®
INHALER is a modern Inhaler device for
compressed-air operated humidification of breathing air.
•
All medications approved for use in inhalation therapy, as
well as other inhalants, may be nebulised using this device.
Your physician will be happy to assist you in selecting
medications appropriate to your needs.
•
Using the supplied attachments, inhalation is alternatively
possible through the mouthpiece, the nosepiece or the
inhalation mask.
•
Special accessories include the LARYVOX
®
mask, a tracheo-
stoma mask for tracheostomy patients.
•
A PEP cap is also available.
•
The NEBUFIRST
®
INHALER can easily be disassembled into
the individual components for maintenance and cleaning.
