Installation Guide:
1.
Check your local building and fire rating codes for low-voltage device installation and wiring
requirements before you begin your installation.
2. Even if allowed by local building codes, F a c t o r E l e c t r o n i c s does not recommend
installing volume
controls in the same box as high voltage wiring or controls, such as dimmers or
switches.
3. Maintain at least 1 stud bay of separation between any speaker wiring or volume controls and
high voltage cables or controls to avoid interference.
4. Always test fit volume controls to the boxes planned for use before installing the boxes.
5. Factor Electronics “D Series” volume controllers should be connected to 25V or 70V commercial
amplifiers and speakers and should not be used with 8ohm residential amplifiers.
6. Each volume control includes a detachable 4 pin terminal block connector that is l AMP-
and +SPK - . Connect the + AMP – to the amplifier speaker output terminals COMM to – and
25/70V to +. Connect the + speaker terminals to + SPK and the – speaker terminal to SPK -.
