PREPARATION
Unpacking and completing the assembly should
be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for moving the machine and its packaging,
always making use of suitable equipment.
1.
Rotate the handle fasteners (Fig. 1.11) at both
sides to release the handle. Rotate the han
-
dle and then position the pin into the mower
bracket. Lock the handle in place by closing the
handle fasteners.
2.
Put the recoil starter (Fig. 1.9) on the right of
the handle, introducing the grip on its support
guide rope and fixing the rope with the plastic
collar.
3.
Place the switch (Fig. 2.1) and clutch lever ca
-
bles (Fig. 2.2) in position.
4. Assemble the grass bag by sliding the frame
(Fig. 3.1) into the grass bag (Fig. 3.3) and attach
-
ing the clips (Fig. 3.2).
5.
Lift the rear discharge guard (Fig. 4.1), remove
the mulching plug (where applicable) and in-
stall the grass bag in position (Fig. 4.2).
MULCHING PLUG
The mulching plug is to be used when mulching
and never in combination with bag collection. Re
-
move the grass bag and close side discharge when
using the mulching plug. To install the mulching
plug, lift the rear discharge (Fig. 5.1) and slide in
position (Fig. 5.2).
SIDE DISCHARGE
When applicable, using side discharge (Fig. 1.7)
will guide the cut lawn out of the side of the lawn
mower deck. Lift the side discharge guard to in
-
stall the chute.
NOTE
When mulching remove side discharge. When using
side discharge keep the mulching plug in position.
WARNING
Lawn mower is delivered without oil and fuel. Fill
with oil and fuel as indicated in respective sections.
FUEL AND LUBRICATION
WARNING
Never smoke whilst refueling and keep fuel away
from all sources of fire or spark. Avoid inhaling the
petrol fumes and always refuel in outside and well
ventilated areas.
The lawn mower is equipped with a 4-stroke engine
meaning gasoline should be used in fuel tank and the
engine case should be filled with 4-stroke engine oil.
Always use clean container for storing fuel and do
not use fuel stored for more than a month. Use a
funnel in order to avoid spilling fuel or oil. Do not
overfill.
NOTE
Stock the amount of fuel required for the job. Do not
stock more than you will use in a month, to keep the
fuel fresh.
To fill the tank with fuel:
1.
Carefully remove the fuel tank cap (Fig. 6.1) as
pressure could have formed inside.
2.
Add fuel to the upper level of the fuel tank (Fig.
6.2). Leave a minimum 5mm of space between
the top of the fuel and the inside edge of the
tank to allow for expansion.
3.
Reposition the fuel tank cap and tighten appro
-
priately.
To fill the engine with oil:
1.
Remove the oil cap (Fig. 7.1). The bottom part
of it is the oil level indic
ator (oil dipstick).
2. Add enough oil to bring the oil level betwen
the upper (Fig. 7.2) and lower (Fig.7.3) limit on
the oil dipstick. Measuring should be done with
the dipstick positioned, but not screwed, in the
filler neck.
3.
Reposition the oil cap and tighten appropria
-
tely
WARNING
Wipe off any spilled fuel and oil before starting the
engine.
OPERATION
Before starting work:
1.
Check that all the screws on the machine are
tightly fastened.
2.
Check that the air filter is clean.
3.
Prepare accessories and make sure they are
correctly mounted.
4.
Check oil and fuel levels and fill if required.
SETTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT
WARNING
Before adjusting the cutting height, stop the engine
and wait for the mower blade to come to a complete
stop.
Pull the lever (Fig. 1.10) forward or backwards to
adjust the adjust to the desired cutting height.
Always make sure that the lever is locked back into
position.
STARTING THE UNIT
WARNING
Before starting the engine, make sure both the ma
-
chine and you are on stable ground. Always check
for any objects that may block the air intake screen
before beginning to work. A clogged air intake re
-
duces the machine’s performance and increases the
engine’s working temperature, which can result in
engine failure.
