4 Screw the AP mounting screws (
item 4
) into the bottom of the AP.
5 Mount the AP on the mounting bracket by aligning the mounting screw with the slots in the bracket
and rotating the unit clockwise about 90 degrees to secure it in place.
Note
If your Ethernet cable has a shrouded RJ-45 connector, the shroud may interfere with seating
the connector in the port. In such cases, we recommend that you remove the shroud from the
connector or use a cable with a thinner shroud.
LAN Connections
The AP3805 has a single LAN port,
located on the back of the AP
. To access this port on the AP3805,
remove the AP from its mount on the ceiling or wall first. During administration and maintenance
through the LAN port, the AP must have a power connection through either an Ethernet PoE cable or a
DC power supply.
Power Connections
The AP3805 can be powered in one of the following ways:
•
Power over Ethernet (PoE). Power is provided through the RJ45 Ethernet port (LAN port) on the
back of the AP3805. This is the preferred method of powering the AP on ceiling and high wall
installations.
•
Power by external power supply. An optional, external 12V DC power supply (WS-PSI12V-MR1) may
be ordered separately to power the AP3805 from a standard AC wall outlet.
Connecting the Power Adapter to the Power Supply
The power supply is compatible with electrical requirements for multiple countries. It is shipped with six
power adapters as shown in the following figure. Select the desired country adapter based on the
power requirements at the point of installation.
