Assembling the Tubes

1. Slip the upper and the lower tubes together.

2. Insert the upper tube into the hopper seal–push in

then pull out so that the seal is extended outward.

3. Align dimple on upper tube with end of hopper seal

and position vertically between the two screws as
shown in Figure 27.

4.

Set the deck in lowest cutting position.

5. Slide lower tube onto blower and latch (make sure

that upper tube does not move out of alignment).

6. Drill 7/32 holes in lower tube using upper tube holes

as reference (see Figure 28).

7. Remove the tubes from unit and assemble the upper

(item 2) and the lower tubes (item 3) using three
#10-24 x 3/4 inch hex washer head screws (item 4),
three #10 washers (item 6), and three #10-24 nyloc
nuts (item 5). The screw head should be installed
to the inside of the tube to provide minimum
obstruction to flow. Make sure that the upper and
the lower ends are oriented properly as the tubes are
assembled. (Parting lines should roughly be lined up.)

8. Slip the upper end of the tube assembly into the

hood opening. Slide the lower end of the tube
assembly over the blower outlet and align the notch
with the tube latch. Latch the tube to the blower.

Operation

Pre-Start:

1. Read the Operator’s manual for the mower and

Ultra Vac to familiarize yourself with all controls
before operating the machine. Make sure that
you understand the controls, their locations, their
functions, and their safety requirements.

2. Ensure the blower, belt cover, bags, tube and hood

are in good condition, properly attached, and latched.

Run In

1. Verify that the blower drive operates correctly prior

to delivery to customer.

2. The Ultra Vac blower operates when deck drive is

engaged. Be sure that all persons are clear of the
mower deck and blower before engaging the cutting
blades. Set the throttle to “midway” position. Pull
outward on the PTO switch to the “ROTATE”
position.

3. To disengage the deck drive and blower, set the

throttle to “midway” position. Push in on the PTO
switch to the “STOP” position to stop the cutting
blades and blower. The cutting blades will require a
slightly longer amount of time to come to a complete
stop when the blower is installed on the deck.
