Installation Instructions

1.

Make sure all moving parts have stopped, parking brake
is engaged, and the key has been removed.

2.

Remove and retain rear bumper and its mounting
hardware.

3.

Loosen the mule drive idler pulley on the right hand
side of the unit so it can slide upward in the slot.

4.

Place a wrench on the 3/8 inch nut in the center of the
spring loaded idler pulley and apply upward pressure
to relieve the belt tension.

Note:

1/2 inch breaker bar with a 9/16 inch socket

works best.

5.

Carefully remove the belt from the idler pulley groove,
and SLOWLY release the spring pressure.

6.

Remove and discard the spring and its mounting
hardware.

7.

Remove the mule drive idler assembly from the unit.
Retain the mule drive idler mounting bolt, nut, bushing,
and two shields (reference Figure 3).

Remove the pulley from the idler arm. Inspect the idler
pulley and bushing, if in good condition remove and
retain; otherwise a new pulley and/or bushing must be
installed. Discard all other mule drive components.

9.

Place the upper dampener mount bracket onto rear
face of the engine mount bracket and align as shown
in Figure 4. Mark the hole locations and drill two
.406 inch diameter holes in the rear face of the engine
mount bracket. Attach the upper dampener mount
bracket using two 3/8-16 x 1 inch hex bolts and two
3/8 inch nyloc nuts.

Relocate the ground cables from the lower engine
mount plate screw to the upper screw (see Figure 5).

11.

Install the idler pulley and bushing onto the new
tightener arm using 3/8-16 x 1 3/4 inch carriage bolt
and 3/8 inch flanged nyloc nut.

12.

Install the new tightener arm assembly on the frame
re-using the mule drive mounting bolt, nut, and two
shields that were retained in step 7.

13.

Slide the dampener sleeve onto the extension spring.
Using 3/8-16 x 2 1/4 inch bolt and 3/8 inch nyloc nut,
