Troubleshooting Guide
In case of errors, check the following things before the device is sent in for repair.
Do not open the device due to electrical shock hazards. Contact customer services
or a store if you cannot solve the problem by following the advice below.
WARNING!
Do not under any circumstances try and repair the device on your own because it
will terminate your warranty.
Problem

No sound/
No voltage
Volume control is installed at “0”. Adjust the volume.
Power cord not connected.
Check the cord and plug it in.
The display does
not work. The
display does not
react at all when
pushing buttons.
Static electricity.
Shut off and pull out the plug.
Put the plug back in again after
a couple of seconds.
Bad sound from
the cassette.
Dust or dirt on heads etc.
Clean the cassette player’s
parts.

Wrong type of cassette
(METAL or CROME)
Only use cassettes of
type NORMAL (IEC I)
when recording.
Recording to
cassette does
not work.
The cassette’s flaps may be
broken.
Use another cassette tape or
cover the hole where the flap
was sitting.
No disc
indication.
No CD is inserted.
Insert a CD, CD-R or CD-RW.
The CD disc is scratched
or dirty.
Change or clean the disc.
See instructions.
The laser lens is misty.
Wait until mist is gone.
The CD-R disc is empty or the
copying has not finished.
Use a finalized CD-R.
Playing of the CD
does not work.
The CD disc is scratched
or dirty.
Change or clean the disc.

The CD player
hops over tracks.

Remove and insert the
memory again.
The memory does not contain
valid MP3 files.
Connect a memory containing
MP3 or WMA files.
