Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product
and then save it for future reference. We reserve the right for any
errors in text or images and any necessary changes made to techni-
cal data. If you have any questions concerning technical problems
please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
• This speaker can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the device in a safe manner and if they
understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and
supervised. Keep the speaker and its mains lead out of reach of
children under the age of 8.
• The speaker may be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capability, lack of experience or knowledge
which could jeopardise their safety, provided they have been
instructed in the safe use of the product and understand
the hazards involved. Never let children play with the speaker.
• The speaker should not be taken apart or modified.
Never try to
open the speaker’s casing.
Certain uninsulated components
inside the housing carry dangerous voltages. Contact with these
can lead to fire or electric shock.
• Do not cover the speaker. Adequate ventilation, with a distance
of at least 5 cm between ventilation ports and surrounding
surfaces, is necessary to prevent the speaker from overheating.
• Place the speaker on a stable, flat surface.
• Do not place the speaker where it could fall into water or other
liquid. Do not place any objects containing liquid on the speaker,
such as vases, drinks, etc.
• Do not place the speaker in constant sunlight or near naked
flames such as wood stoves, lit candles, etc.
• The speaker is intended for indoor use only.
• Never subject the speaker to high temperatures, dust, heavy
vibrations, impacts, damp or moisture.
• Protect your hearing. Listening on high volume for prolonged
periods can lead to permanent hearing loss.
• The speaker must only be repaired by qualified service
technicians.
Care and maintenance
• Wipe the speaker clean with a dry cloth as and when required.
• Fully charge the speaker battery every third month if it is not to
be used for a long time.
• Store the speaker in a dry location when it is not in use.
• The built-in speaker battery cannot be replaced.

Buttons and functions
5. Start playback on your device. Set the desired volume levels
both on the external device and the speaker. Use the controls on
your device or speaker to control playback.
Note:
If you are prompted to enter a PIN code on your device,
you should enter
0000
(four zeroes). Certain devices may also
require you to approve the connection.
6. The speaker will automatically re-connect to the last device it
was paired to, if the device’s Bluetooth is activated and within
the speaker’s range.
7. If multiple Bluetooth commands occur simultaneously or is
disrupted in any other way to prevent automatic re-connection,
then re-connection must be done manually.
8. Hold in [
] (6) for 3 seconds to deactivate the current
Bluetooth connection and begin a device search.
Handsfree headsets
• If you have your phone connected to the speaker via Bluetooth
and receive a call whilst listening to music, the speaker will
automatically interrupt music playback, play the ring signal
of the incoming call and allow you to conduct your call over
the speaker. Once the call has been ended, music playback will
be resumed (if your phone settings enable this).
• Press [
] (6) if you wish to answer or end a call.
AUX IN
• You can connect any chosen external audio source to
the 3.5 mm AUX IN socket (9). Any Bluetooth connection is
automatically switched off once an external device is connected
to the 3.5 mm AUX IN socket.
• You will not be able to control playback on the external device
when connected to the speaker’s AUX IN socket. The playback
can only be controlled using the controls on the external device
itself.
• A 3.5 mm auxiliary cable is sold separately.
Bluetooth LED connection indicator (1)
• The LED indicator will show a quick blue flashing pattern when
the speaker is receptive for pairing with other Bluetooth devices.
• The blue LED indicator will begin flashing every other second
once a Bluetooth connection has been established.
Troubleshooting guide
The Bluetooth

The battery might be flat. Recharge the battery.

• Check the volume and that play/pause have
been activated on the device.
• Make sure that the Bluetooth connection has
been properly established.
• Test the playback of the file on the device
itself before connecting it to the speaker.
• Try using another file for playback. The file
you are attempting to play may be corrupted.
• Make sure that no other wireless devices are
disrupting the current Bluetooth connection.

• Check that the cable connecting the device
and the speaker is undamaged and securely
connected.
• Test the playback of the file on the device

Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be
disposed of with general household waste. This applies
throughout the entire EU. In order to prevent any
harm to the environment or health hazards caused by
incorrect waste disposal, the product must be handed
in for recycling so that the material can be disposed
of in a responsible manner. When recycling your
product, take it to your local collection facility or contact
the place of purchase. They will ensure that the product
is disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.

Operating instructions
Charging
• Fully charge the battery before using the speaker for
the first time.
• Only use the supplied charge lead.
• Connect the included charge lead to the Bluetooth speaker’s
charge port (8) and to a computer or other USB charger.
• The LED indicator will shine red while the battery is charging and
go out when the battery is fully charged.
• When the battery is almost fully discharged, the speaker will emit
an audible signal and then shut off.
• Charging can take place with the speaker on or off.
Connecting an external Bluetooth device
1. Turn the speaker on by setting the [ OFF/ON ] switch (7) to
the
ON
position. The LED indicator (1) will show a quick blue
flashing pattern which indicates that the speaker is ready for
pairing with other Bluetooth devices.
2. Activate Bluetooth on the device to be paired with the speaker.
3. The speaker will appear as
BX51
on your device, select
this option to connect your device to the speaker. Refer to
the instruction manual of your device for further clarification if you
are unsure.
4. Once contact has been established, the blue LED indicator (1)
will flash slowly every other second.
