5.4.6.1 Start ramp
The start ramp function prevents an energy input that is too fast or too high immediately after the start of
welding when the user depresses the pedal of the remote control too fast and too far.
Example:
The user sets the main current at the welding machine to 200 A. The user presses the remote-control pe-
dal very quickly down by approx. 50% of the pedal travel.
• Start ramp is switched on: The welding current increases in a linear (slow ) ramp to approx. 100 A
• Start ramp is switched off: The welding current immediately jumps to approx. 100 A
