Adjustment Knob

NA

Used to adjust any parameter in the parameter/weld cycle graph found in item # 3. IMPORTANT! With the

knob in the normal position, the knob adjusts incrementally.  However, for a greater adjustment value,

such as a whole number at a time rather than decimals, or to increase in values of 10 (depending on

function type) press in on knob lightly and turn the knob while holding pressure in.

7

Stick Function

Rather than have the stick function attached to the weld cycle graph, the functions are separated here.  In

Stick mode use # 5 to select and adjust Arc Force, Hot Start Time (Duration), or Hot Start Amps (Intensity)

Pulse

OFF

Standard AC/

DC

Adv. AC

This unit provides two types of Pulse for TIG.  The Standard mode operates pulse in both AC and DC

output modes in a traditional manner, alternating the Amperage between two values, of the same type of

output.  The AC Advanced pulse not only alternates Amperage it also alternates between both AC and DC

output, with the AC being assigned the

Peak

”

Amp value (Welding Amps) and the

Base Amp

”

value

(Pulse Amps).  This offers a hybrid, or rather a mixed type of pulse.  See next section for further explana-

tion and details of operation.  See Specifications page for range of value for each pulse parameter.  This

parameter does not function with Stick mode.

Remote Function

2T

4T

Pedal

2T Pedal

4T Pedal

The user may select between 2T, 4T,  Pedal, 2T with Pedal, and 4T with Pedal.  2T and 4T modes should

only be used with the torch switch.  Pedal mode should only be used with the Foot Pedal.  2T and Pedal

as well as 4T Pedal  modes (where both lights are lit) is designed to be operated mainly with a torches that

have both a switch for activating the arc, and a separate amp control on the torch.  If a slider or a rotary

control is used without a separate switch, select Pedal mode only.  If  2T  and Pedal, or 4T and Pedal are

lit together and used with the foot pedal, or slider or similar amptrol, malfunction may occur.  In Pedal

mode, certain features  like Up

-

Slope and Down Slope, will not allow adjustment and will be zeroed out

(null value).

10

Wave Form Control

Advanced

Square

Soft Square

Triangular

Sine

This  is used to select from four  wave form selections offered in AC mode.  It is also used to select the

unit to weld in DC mode.   Each wave form has an affect on bead profile, wet

-

in speed, arc softness, and

weld characteristics in general.  For most Aluminum applications Advanced Square Wave Form will be

used.  DC will be used for all metals except Aluminum and Magnesium.  There is no wave form selection

for DC.

11.

Display

A,S, %, Hz or

Error

The display will display the corresponding value of each parameter selected for adjustment. The display

reading may represent  a value in Amps, Seconds, Percent, or in Hertz (Frequency).  It can also indicate a

malfunction or error present.  The LED corresponding to the parameter selected for adjustment will be lit

to indicate exactly what value is being represented. (ie, Hz, Time, etc.) The default reading will always be in

Amps. The display will revert to Amps after 3 seconds if no adjustment to the selected parameter is made.
