Make sure your cowl is fitted securely. Far too many cowls have ended up in the next field at the sign 

of the first breeze.  Some cowls have extra secure fittings (i.e. straps and locking bands) available 

as an optional extra.

Finally having fitted your cowl, carry out necessary checks to ascertain that the appliance is working 

correctly.  Re-commission the appliance if this is needed.

A cowl should be correctly aligned and fitted 

to the pot securely.

A masked cowl would be

subject to turbulence and

impossible to control.

A cowl should be fitted so as to 

be slightly higher than the pot.  

Securely fitted to avoid wind 

damage.
