Troubleshooting

8 - 8 Power

8

The battery pack will not 
charge and the charge 
indicator light is off.

The battery is already fully charged and the indicator light is broken.

A beeping sound is heard 
and the low-battery 
indicator is on.

The battery power is nearly used up. 

Connect the AC adapter to your computer.

A beep isn’t heard when 
the low-battery indicator 
turns on, or the gauge 
indicates power is less 
than 10%.

The battery power is nearly used up and the volume control may be turned down. 

Adjust 

the volume control and connect the computer with the AC adapter.

Actual battery operating 
time is shorter than 
expected.

The battery has not been fully discharged before being recharged.

 Make sure the battery 

is fully discharged and recharge it completely before reusing (see 

“Battery Information” 

on page 3 - 28

).

Power Options have been disabled.

 Go to the 

Control Panel 

in 

Windows

 and re-enable 

the options.

A peripheral device or PC Card is consuming a lot of power. 

Turn off the unused device to 

save power.
