Among other things, the DCF signal includes the precise time (theoretical deviation of 1 second in
a million years!) and the date.

This means there is no need for manual setting of summer and winter time.

TO MAKE A DCF RECEPTION ATTEMPT

To perform a manual search for the DCF signal (e.g., if you have placed the radio alarm clock in
a different location), press the “°C/°F WAVE” (2) button for approx. 3 seconds. Afterwards, the
reception symbol starts to blink. Wait for approx. 5 minutes as described above, until the correct
time is displayed and the reception symbol stops blinking.

SETTING THE TIME MANUALLY

If the DCF signal cannot be received, the time must be set manually.

-

First check the indication on the bottom right of the display. The indoor temperature must be

displayed here. If, for example, the alarm time is displayed at this position, briefl y press the
„MODE“ (1) button repeatedly until the indoor temperature is shown again.

-

Now hold down the „MODE“ (1) button for as long as necessary (approx. 3 seconds), until the

hour display starts blinking. The radio reception symbol goes out.

-

The currently displayed value can be changed using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button.  If the respec-

tive button is pressed for a longer period of time, a quick adjustment is performed.

-

With a brief keystroke on the „MODE“ (1) button, you can switch to the minute

setting, year setting, month setting and date setting and you can set the required value using
the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button.

-

After setting the date, press the „MODE“ (1) button again to save the setting.



If you wish to display the DCF time again, you can start a DCF reception attempt manu-
ally. For this purpose, see the chapter „DCF Reception“ above.

TOGGLING BETWEEN THE 12H /24H MODES

If the normal time display is shown, briefl y press the button “-” (3) to toggle between the 12h/24h
modes.

In the 12h mode, the symbol “AM” appears to the left of the time during the fi rst half of the day and
“PM” appears during the second half of the day.

CHANGING THE ADDITIONAL DISPLAY

The additional indication on the bottom right of the display can be switched between displaying
the indoor temperature, the alarm time (alarm 1), the alarm time 2 (alarm 2) and a second time
(dual time).

For this purpose, briefl y press the “MODE” (1) key several times, until the required information is
displayed.

SETTING/ DISPLAYING THE TIME ZONE

If, you wish to display the time for another time zone (e.g. the time in Las Vegas, USA), despite the
DCF reception, you can set a time difference with respect to the DCF time (+12 h or -12 h).

For this purpose, proceed as follows:

-

Press and hold the „+“ (3) button for approx. 3 seconds, until the symbol „

“ is shown in the

top right of the display.   Release the button again.

-

Press and hold the „MODE“ (1) button for 3 seconds, until the hour display starts blinking.

-

Set the hours using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button. For quick adjustment, hold the corresponding

button for a while longer.

-

Briefl y press the “MODE” (1) button to store the setting.

-

In order to deactivate the second time zone, press the “+” button (3) for about three seconds

until the symbol „

“ in the right upper corner of the display goes out and then the unit is

returned to the regular radio-controlled time.

SETTING THE SECOND TIME (DUAL TIME)

The radio alarm clock provides the option to show the normal time as well an additional time for
another time zone (e. g. the time in a distant vacation resort).

-

First select the display for the second time zone by briefl y pressing the „MODE“ (1) key, as

often as necessary, until „DUAL TIME“ is displayed at the bottom right.

-

Press and hold the „MODE“ (1) button for 3 seconds, until the hour display for the second time

zone starts blinking.

-

Set the hours for the second time zone using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button. For quick adjust-

ment, hold the corresponding button for a while longer.

-

Confi rm the setting, by briefl y pressing the button „MODE“ (1). The minutes for the second time

zone start blinking.

-

Set the minutes for the second time zone using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button. For quick adjust-

ment, hold the corresponding button for a while longer.

-

Confi rm the setting, by briefl y pressing the button „MODE“ (1). The setting of the time for the

second time zone is completed.



If you don‘t press any button for approx. 30 seconds, the setting mode will be exited
automatically (without saving the settings).

ALARM FUNCTION

a) Alarm display

Briefl y press the “MODE” (1) button repeatedly, until alarm time 1 (“ALARM 1”) or the alarm time 2
(“ALARM 2”) is shown at the bottom right of the display.

b) Setting the alarm

-

Press and hold the „MODE“ (1) button for 3 seconds, until the hour display for the alarm time

starts blinking.

-

Set the hours for the alarm time using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button. For quick adjustment, hold

the corresponding button for a while longer.

-

Confi rm the setting, by briefl y pressing the button „MODE“ (1). The minutes for the alarm time

start blinking.

-

Set the minutes for the alarm time using the „+“ (3) or „-“ (4) button. For quick adjustment,

hold the corresponding button for a while longer.

-

Confi rm the setting, by briefl y pressing the button „MODE“ (1). Setting the alarm time is now

completed.

-

Proceed in this manner when setting alarm time 1 and / or alarm time 2.



If you don‘t press any button for approx. 30 seconds, the setting mode will be exited
automatically (without saving the settings).

c) Activating/deactivating the alarm time

-

You can activate/deactivate the two alarm times by briefl y pressing the „ALARM“ (5) button,

on the side of the radio alarm clock, several times.  The corresponding symbols for „alarm time
1 activated“, „alarm time 2 activated“ or „alarm time 1 and 2 activated“ will appear at the bot-
tom right of the display.

-

If the alarm is switched off, no symbol is shown in the display.

d) Stop alarm signal & “SNOOZE“

At the alarm time set, an alarm signal will be emitted (in addition, the bell symbol blinks). This can
be stopped by briefl y pressing the “ALARM” (5) button.

When the “SNOOZE/LIGHT” button is pressed on the top of the clock, the alarm signal is inter-
rupted for approx. 4 minutes (between the hours and minutes a symbol “Zz” blinks) and starts
again later (snooze function).



If you don‘t interrupt or stop the alarm signal, the inbuilt automatic switch-off function
will stop the alarm after approx. 4 minutes.

SELECT THE TEMPERATURE UNIT °C/°F

Briefl y press the “°C/°F WAVE” (2) button to select the required temperature unit for displaying
the indoor temperature.



However, this is only possible if the indoor temperature is shown at the bottom right of
the display. For this purpose, see the chapter „Switching the additional display“.

SELECTING THE LANGUAGE FOR THE WEEKDAY DISPLAY

The weekday (abbreviated as two letters) is displayed to the right of the month display. The lan-
guage for this abbreviation can be set.

For this purpose, proceed as follows:
