8. Electrical connection
CAUTION
Risk of damage to equipment or malfunctions as a result of incorrect connection
Ì Before making the electrical connections, make sure that the available supply voltage matches the
voltage stated in the technical data.
Ì The transmitter and receiver must be supplied with a voltage of 24 V DC ± 20 % (PELV, must cor-
respond to EN 60204-1 (chapter 6.4)).
Ì The electrical connections must be made while following the wiring diagrams in these operating
instructions. No other devices are allowed to be connected to the plug connectors on the transmit-
ter and receiver.
Ì On the usage of a power supply unit with diode bridge, the output capacitance must be at least
2000 μF for each ampere drawn.
Ì Power devices which are a powerful source of interference must be installed in a separate location
away from the input and output circuits for signal processing. The cable routing for the safety cir-
cuits should be as far away as possible from the cables for the power circuits.
Ì The function earth must be connected to comply with the EMC requirements.
Ì To avoid EMC interference, the physical environmental and operating conditions at the installation
site of the device must comply with the requirements according to the standard 60204-1:2006,
section 4.4.2 (EMC).
WARNING
To ensure safety, both safety outputs must always be evaluated.
