1. A command Path. This starts with a "/" and looks similar to a URL web address that you
would type into your browser. Eg: /cobalt/param/pan/wheel
2. Zero or more Values. (Sometimes called Parameters or Arguments) Some OSC commands
have optional values, while others require one, two or even more values. These are shown in
angle brackets, with the range if applicable: Eg: <palette 1-999>
How do I use it?
OSC apps have various different ways to specify the OSC Path and the OSC Value (where
needed)
Be sure to check the manual for your OSC app to see how to type in the Path and the Values.
In many OSC applications, the values may be specified as a range. For example, an OSC fader will
need a Minimum and a Maximum value. If you are having trouble, check with whether you've
entered the Path and the Value(s) for the command correctly for the software you are using.
TouchOSC:
TouchOSC always sends at least one value, set by the Value Range.
For example, the console [Go] button:
All Cobalt OSC commands also support the additional press (1.0)/release (0.0) value syntax used by
TouchOSC buttons.
To convert the normal OSC command into this format, move the Values into the
Path and use Value Range 0.0-1.0.
Example TouchOSC Buttons:

To send the OSC Command "/cobalt/playback/goto" with the value
3:
"/cobalt/playback/goto/3" with Value Range 0.0-1.0

To send the OSC Command "/cobalt/chan/at" with the value 75: "/cobalt/chan/at/75" with
Value Range 0.0-1.0
•
To send the OSC Command "/cobalt/directselect" with the values 1, 2,
1:
"/cobalt/directselect/1/2/1" with Value Range 0.0-1.0
Example TouchOSC Fader:

To send the OSC Command "/cobalt/chan/at" with the values 0-100: "/cobalt/chan/at" with
Value Range 0.0-100.0
