Other Useful Facilities

Alarm

If a fault occurs in the exchange, this symbol flashes and shows
2, 3 or 4. The number indicates the degree of seriousness.

2 = Requires action within one week
3 = Requires immediate action during normal working hours
4 = Demands immediate action at all times

Use the following procedure to acknowledge the alarm:

Press

The display shows this information.

Dial and press

The symbols changes to steady light.

Press

The console is cleared.

The purpose with the acknowledgement of the alarm is to avoid
other operators from reporting the alarm. After acknowledge-
ment, you must report the alarm to maintenance, stating the
alarm class as above.

The alarm indication with steady light remains until maintenance
staff have eliminated the fault and erased the alarm from the
maintenance terminal.

When this symbol lights on the display the maintenance staff are
working in the exchange room.
