Looking at the subassembly, locate one of the power
supply cables that lead from the power supply (behind
the horizontal drive bays). The cables are labeled P1, P2,
and P3; you can use any one. As shown below, the end of
the connector has two notched corners.

The power supply socket on the back of the drive is next
to the ribbon cable connector. The socket also has two
notched corners, as shown below.

You must connect a power supply cable to each drive you
install in your system. If you’ll be reinstalling a hard disk

drive in the vertical mounting position, connect the

power supply cable to this drive first. If not, connect the
power supply cable to the drive you just installed in the
lower horizontal drive bay.
