Keep the four screws so you can use them to secure the
mounting plate to the hard disk drive. Then set the drive
aside with the component side facing up.

Removing and Attaching the Mounting Plate

If you are installing a new hard disk drive in your computer,
you need to attach a hard disk drive mounting plate to the
drive. This mounting plate is currently attached to the side of
the subassembly, as shown below.

Follow these steps to remove the mounting plate from your
computer:

1. Turn the computer so that the front panel is facing you.

The vertical mounting area is located behind the front
panel on the right side of the subassembly.
