Disassembly and Assembly

Optical Unit Removal

Caution

Do not touch the optical unit, except at the time of replacement.
Do not open the unit under any conditions.

Do not remove the circuit board from the optical unit under any condition.
Do not loosen the 2 screws secured with black paint (shown in position A in

the figure below).
Do not loosen the 2 screws (shown in position B in the figure below).

Open the top cover.

Remove the imaging cartridge. Cover the imaging

cartridge to protect it from

Remove the control panel.

Remove the paper guide.

light or place it in a dark area.

(Refer to page 3-10.)

Remove the paper guide case. (Refer to pages 3-11 and 3-12.)

Disconnect connector CN5 on the engine controller board (PWB-A).

Remove 2 CC (M3 x 6) screws and 1 CC (M3 x 12) screw, and remove the
optical unit.
