Print Head Alignment
The print head can be aligned by selecting this option.
See “Aligning the Print Head” on page 87.
LCD Contrast
The contrast of the LCD panel can be adjusted by selecting this
option.
Backup
It is possible to store the contents of a memory card in an external
storage device, such as an MO (magneto-optical) drive, Zip
®
drive, or CD-R/RW drive, by connecting it to the printer.
Note:

The media must have enough free space for backup.
❏
The media must have only one partition.
❏
You cannot back up while printing from the computer to the printer.
❏
Do not connect the external storage device while the computer is
accessing the memory card in the printer.
❏
The message “Cannot recognize the loaded media.” is displayed on
the LCD panel if the storage media is not formatted for DOS or
Windows. Follow the instructions on the LCD panel to format the
storage media.

The available MO disk capacities are 128, 230, and 640 MB.
❏
The available Zip disk capacities are 100 and 250 MB.
❏
You can back up 512 times to one storage medium except CD-R.
❏
The available CD-R capacities are 640 and 700 MB.
