FINGER TESTING
The single most
important step you can take to get an
accurate reading is to wash and dry your
hands before you prick your
fi
nger. Make
sure there is no food residue, lotion, oil,
or other contaminants on your hands.
This will effect results.
Squeezing your
fi
nger may
effect the blood sample by
causing more interstitial
fl
uid
to enter the sample than capil-
lary blood. Washing with warm
water will increase blood
fl
ow
to
fi
ngers, making it easier to
get blood without pressure.
• If you get a reading that seems
incorrect
• Before adjusting medication
• When a blood glucose test result is
too high or too low
• If you feel the meter or test strips
have been compromised in any
way
• Remember to select the Control
Solution Icon when performing a
control test.
When using a test strip, insert
it into the meter and con
fi
rm
the strip code on the meter is
the same as the strip code on
the bottle. Never use damaged
or expired test strips.
Accurate results depend upon
carefully following all product
use instructions.
The meter will auto-
matically turn on and
display the code num-
ber. Make sure the
code number matches
the code number on
the test strip vial.
Place a drop of solution on a clean, dry
surface (for example: the lid of your test
strip vial). Pick up the meter and touch
the end of the test strip to the drop.
Make sure to hold the test strip to the
drop until the beep sounds.
Compare the control
reading with the range
printed on the test strip
vial. If the reading is not
within the range, repeat
test. If the second reading
is not within the range,
contact Entra Health
Systems.
Prior to use, shake
the control solution
bottle vigorously.
A test result will appear
in 3 seconds.
Always discard
fi
rst drop of control
solution.
Wipe the tip
clean.
Make sure the test
strip is inserted
fully into the test
slot of the meter.
1. If you get a reading that
seems incorrect
2. Before adjusting medication
Lancets are for single
use only.
If you do not have access to a
sink when you are testing, rubbing
alcohol will do. Use it in place of
hand washing to clean the testing
area or
fi
nger to remove any resi-
due before you test. Make sure the
area is dry before testing.
It is recommended that the meter,
control solution and test strips be
at room temperature before testing.
Make sure the control solution bottle
is tightly closed and stored between
46 - 86°F (2–30° C). Use before the
expiration date shown on the bottle.
Use within 3 months of
fi
rst opening.
Make sure to discard after 3 months.
Using the correct strips and
storing them properly is im-
portant. Only MyGlucoHealth
test strips will work with the
MyGlucoHealth meter.
If there is nowhere to wash
your hands, and you’ve
forgotten alcohol swabs,
your best option: Prick your
fi
nger and wipe the
fi
rst drop
of blood away and test with
the second drop of blood,
which is less likely to be
contaminated.
Don’t store your meter, test
strips or control solution
where it’s too hot, too cold,
too humid, or too high in
altitude. Close the vial cap
tightly, immediately after
removing the MyGlucoHealth
Test Strip. Improperly stored
strips will yield poor results.
Use
fi
ngertip for
most accurate
testing.
