20. Wrap one folded sealing tape [H] around the heat shrink sleeve [C] next to the braid. Put the end of
the other folded sealing tape [H] between cold cable electric conductors. Press the conductors firmly
into the sealing tape. Wrap the sealing tape tightly around the electric conductors (blue and brown).
Wrap the end around the earthing conductor (yellow / green).
21. Cut the cold cable earthing conductor in suitable length. Strip the earthing conductor 10mm. Put
the earthing conductor in the butt connector [G]. Crimp the butt connector with an appropriate tool.
22. Remove the protective paper from the sealing tapes [2 x H]. Wrap one sealing tape on the heating
cable on the attached sealing tape in such a manner that it covers the earthing braid. Wrap the other
sealing tape on the cold cable.
23. Isolate the three connected conductors from each other with the silicon spacer [K].
24. Measure approx. 150mm from the middle of the silicon spacer. Mark the position. Pull the heat shrink
sleeve [D] on the the marked place.
25. Shrink the heat shrink sleeve with 350°C hot air. Start from the centre toward to each end until
adhesive appears.
End Termination
1. Incise the outer sheath carefully in cross direction at the distance of 25mm measured from the end
of the heating cable.
2. Incise the outer sheath carefully 2 x longitudinal direction.
3. Remove the outer sheath carefully from both sides of the of heating cable.
4. Unpick the earthing braid carefully. Cut the strands. Do not remove the inner sheath.
5. Cut a 10mm long piece from the stripped cable end in such a manner that the electric conductors
are different lengths.
6. Remove the protective paper from the sealing tape [L]. Fold the sealing tape in longitudinal direction.
Remove the protective paper from the outer side of the sealing tape. Wrap the sealing tape tightly
around the heating cable’s inner sheath. Press the sealing tape firmly against the outer sheath and braid.
7. Check the end cap [M] for possible damages. Fill the end cap with silicon glue [N] measured approx.
35mm from the bottom.
8. Push the end cap fully length onto the heating cable. Remove possible air bubbles. Make sure of
proper fit and sealing. The heating cable is ready for operation.
