BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Rinse the mixing container (9) with blade assembly (8) and the splash-guard lid (2) with
filler opening lid (1) thoroughly before using for the first time and after each subsequent
use. For more information on this, refer to section “Cleaning the appliance” on page
41.
The appliance is driven by an electric motor. This can lead to a slight smell
during initial operation. This smell is normal and is not a sign of a
malfunctioning appliance. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation.
Fill the mixing container (9).

Place the splash-guard lid (2) on the mixing container and turn it clockwise until it is
closed tightly (see Fig. 2).
Place the mixing container (9) directly onto the drive shaft in the motor block (7)
with the handle pointing to the right.
Take care to ensure that the mixing container (9) has been attached to the
motor block (7) correctly. The blender will not work if the mixing container
(9) or the splash-guard lid (2) is not attached correctly.
Please note that it is not necessary to rotate the mixing container (9) when
placing it onto the motor block (7).
Connect the blender to a domestic power socket.
The blender is now ready for use.
