Note
Do not use flanges or flange nuts whose bore
hole is larger or smaller than that of the saw
blade.
Wear protective gloves
Wear appropriate protective gloves when
inserting or exchanging tools.
As standard, the device is supplied with a
saw blade with 18 teeth (suited for wood and
plastic). The saw blade is preassembled.
Please proceed as follows to remove or insert a
saw blade:
1. Remove the battery from the device.
2. Set the cutting depth to 0 mm.
3. Set the cutting angle to 0°.
4. Place the device on the front side of the
motor housing.
5. Press and hold the spindle lock (1).
6. Loosen the clamping screw (20) by means
of the Allen wrench (12).
7. Let go of the spindle lock (1).
8. Remove the clamping screw (20) as well as
the clamping flange (19).
9. Remove any material residues from the
device, in particular from the lower guard.
10. Swing the lower guard (18) back using the
retracting lever for guard (22) and hold the
retracting lever in this position.
11. Remove the saw blade (34).
Check whether the saw blade clamp (33) is
attached to the device. If it has fallen out
accidentally, reattach it.
13. Please note that the lower guard (18) must
be swung back using the retracting lever for
guard (22) in order to insert the saw blade.
14. Insert the new saw blade (34). When doing
so, make sure that the direction of the
arrow on the saw blade corresponds to that
of the arrow on the device.
15. Carefully swing the lower guard (18) back
into its initial position with the retracting
lever for guard (22).
16. Refit the clamping flange (19) on the saw
blade clamp (33). In doing so, make sure to
insert the clamping flange as shown below
(convex side to the outside).
17. Fit the clamping screw (20) onto the
clamping flange (19).
18. Press and hold the spindle lock (1).
19. Tighten the clamping screw (20) by means
of the Allen wrench (12).
20. Let go of the spindle lock (1).
21. Check whether the saw blade is properly
locked in place.
22. Put the battery (13) back in.
Mounting and adjusting the rip fence
(Fig.16-17)
1 Loosen the wing screw for rip fence (17)
and insert the rip fence (10) into the rip
fence holder (6).
2. Set the desired distance from the cutting
line to the edge of the workpiece (cutting
width) using the scale on the rip fence (10)
and the mark (35) on the base plate.
The figure below shows a 4 cm setting by
way of example:
3. Retighten the wing screw for rip fence (17).
Checking the pendulum guard
The pendulum guard is an important safety
device of the power tool. It must function
properly; otherwise the device must not be
used.
Observe the following information:
Safety warnings for circular saws with
pendulum guard and circular saws with tow
guard – Lower guard function
• Check the lower guard for proper closure
before each use. Do not operate the saw if
the lower guard does not move freely and
close immediately. Never clamp or tie the
lower guard in the open position.
If saw is accidentally dropped, lower guard
may be bent. Raise the lower guard with
the retracting lever and make sure it moves
freely and does not touch the blade or any
other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
• Check the operation of the lower guard
spring. If the guard and the spring are not
operating properly, they must be serviced
before use.
Lower guard may operate
sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy
deposits, or a build-up of debris.
• Lower guard may be retracted manually
only for special cuts such as "plunge cuts"
and "compound cuts". Raise lower guard
