USER’S MANUAL
BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
(CONTINUED)
BATTERY RECYCLING
When maintained and used properly (by following charging and storage guidelines), the Lead Acid Battery Pack will last two to three
years. When the battery pack no longer holds a charge or is unable to be charged properly, it should be removed from the Moto M3
and delivered to a recycling facility. Federal Laws prohibit disposal of lead-acid batteries in everyday trash. Please contact your local
solid waste or recycling authority for recycling information in your area.
GENERAL USAGE NOTES
Break-in period: Your Moto M3 will last longer and work better after the break-in period. Brake control cables, chains and axle nuts
may become loose when the Moto M3 is used for the first time and may require adjustment. We suggest that the brakes and axle
nuts be checked every 30 days and adjusted if necessary.
The Moto M3 can be used without pedals but pedaling the Moto M3 at the beginning of your journey will save battery life and make
it easier to balance. You should also pedal when the battery power is too low. Turning the throttle all the way up and riding the Moto
M3 all the time on a full throttle will also reduce battery life. We suggest you start smoothly and turn the throttle towards you 1/4 of
the way once you have built momentum.
It’s a good idea to keep a tool kit with you when you ride. You should also carry two spare inner tubes that fit the wheel and tire as
well as a manual air pump (with gauge) to re-inflate the tires if they deflate during use.
If your Moto M3 sustains an impact:
WARNING
A CRASH OR OTHER IMPACT CAN PUT STRESS ON COMPONENTS,
CAUSING THEM TO WEAR PREMATURELY OR BREAK. THIS CAN LEAD TO LOSS OF CONTROL,
SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Should you have an accident, check yourself for injuries, and take care of them as best as you can. Then, seek medical help, if
necessary. Next, if your Moto M3 is damaged, carry out the checks described in this manual. If you are unable to fix the problem, or
if you find any bent, scratched, or discolored parts, please call your local Moto M3 retailer.
WARNING
IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE SCOOTER OR ANY OF ITS PARTS,
DON’T USE IT AND CALL YOUR MOTO M3 RETAILER.
MAINTENANCE
Technological breakthroughs have made components more complex than ever before. For this reason, this manual cannot provide
all the information required to properly repair and/or maintain your Moto M3. To minimize the chances of an accident and possible
injury, you should have maintenance work performed regularly.
If you wish to have more detailed maintenance instructions or to order replacement parts, please contact your Moto M3 retailer.
Local bicycle retail stores with repair facilities can also assist you with certain non-electrical repairs or adjustments that you are not
qualified to carry out or for which you do not have the required tools.
This Moto M3 has no combustion engine, transmission, belts, chains, clutch, ignition plugs, carburetor and uses no gasoline or
lubricants. This means it requires very little maintenance. What’s more, the Moto M3 has a unique direct drive system and a
regenerative brushless motor braking system, which means that friction can only occur in the front axle bearings and the motor
bearings.
Regular maintenance includes:
• Adjusting the brakes
• Checking the nuts and bolts
• Checking tire pressure
• Checking the chain
