The ESP Inverter Series Variable Speed outdoor units are ideally suited for medium size homes. When used with
the HE-Z series indoor unit, the system modulates refrigerant flow and indoor air flow to precisely match output
capacity to load. The ability to match output capacity to load results in superior energy performance not just
at the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) condition but right through the operating envelope.
Inverter technology has not been well suited to concealed multizone ducted applications due to its inability to
reduce capacity below 40% (over 80% of operating profile). Historically systems have overcome this problem
by running the indoor fan at high flow rates and dumping excess air into part of the home. This strategy
wastes energy, sacrifices comfort and often results in the coil temperature being higher than the dew point of
the air, creating a muggy feeling within the home. The ESP System maintains a constant air off condition and
modulates airflow, and by doing so continues to remove moisture and runs extremely quiet at night.
• Dual Inverter models utilize 180 degree full wave DC Inverter for refrigerant flow rate modulation and
electronically commutated DC for Indoor air flow rate modulation.
