Installing the high temperature version (with PFA lining)
The high temperature version has a housing support for the thermal separation of
sensor and transmitter. The high temperature version is always used for applications
in which high ambient temperatures are encountered
in conjunction with high fluid
temperatures. The high temperature version is obligatory if the fluid temperature
e150 °C.

Note:
Insulation
Pipes generally have to be insulated if they carry either very hot or cryogenic fluids, in
order to avoid energy losses and to prevent accidental contact with pipes at tempera-
tures that could cause injury. Guidelines regulating the insulation of pipes have to be
taken into account.

Caution:
Risk of measuring electronics overheating. The housing support dissipates heat and its
entire surface area must remain uncovered. Make sure that the sensor insulation does
not extend past the top of the two sensor shells (Fig. 15).

Note:
We recommend to use the high temperature version with insulated pipes and for a
temperature higher than 110°C.

We recommend the installation of the device into a horizontally running piping with the
housing support in the vertical as the optimum. Not fixed or not supported pipes in the
device’s area have to be as short as possible. That way the mechanical stress of the
device because of piping vibrations is reduced.
