1 INTRODUCTION
The calibration check jig is used to ensure that the original factory calibration of the inclinometer probe is
unchanged. As a good practice, the calibration of the inclinometer probe must be checked periodically with
this jig, preferably once every 1~3 months depending on the usage of probe/criticality of site or in case of
uncertainty.
For checking, inclinometer probe is inserted in the wall mounted calibration check jig and readings for 0

positions are noted down. The initial readings are taken as the reference readings for future
reference. Later on when the probe’s calibration is to be checked, the readings are again taken at 0

and compared with the initial reference reading. If any drift is detected in the probe
readings at a later date, it indicates that the probe needs calibration.
