This appendix defines the serial cable requirements for connecting the printer to your
DOS or UNIX based systems. It also includes instructions for setting serial communica-
tion parameters.

RS-422 cable requirements

You may build this cable or purchase it from ENCAD, Inc. For connecting to an Apple
Macintosh, use the standard ImageWriter II cable.
