Install the Host Bus Adapter Board
This is a sample installation. Your installation may vary depending on your
system. Please refer to your system documentation for specific installation
instructions.
Record IEEE and serial numbers.
Each host bus adapter port is shipped with a
unique address identifier called the IEEE
address. Since this adapter has two ports, there
are two IEEE addresses. The IEEE address is
used when configuring your system. The serial
number is used when communicating with
Emulex. All numbers are clearly marked on the
board. We recommend that you record these numbers before installing
the adapter.

Turn off and unplug the computer.
Expose an SBus slot.
Remove or add the face plate extension as needed to fit in your SBus
slot.

Insert the board into the SBus slot, aligning the faceplate and the
connector as shown.

Apply pressure to the board as shown to seat the connectors.
Note
Some SBus slots have posts next to the
connector which are used to align and
sometimes lock−in a board. If this is the case,
remove the host adapter handle by pulling its
legs toward the edge of the adapter and pulling
up.

Reassemble the computer.
