The multilayer pipe system (Gerpex, Gerpex RA,

Alpert) and the Gerpex and Gerpex LBP press joints

grants a high reliability and long lasting of both

thermo and sanitary plants.

Correct operation of the system requires that instal-

lation is carried out according to a small number of

essential instructions.

The purpose of this manual is to describe the correct

procedure and to provide the technical information

necessary to ensure that installation is carried out

correctly Gerpex and Gerpex LB.

1 Checking the tools required

1.1 Pressing machine and jaws

• Strictly follow what’s reported on the user manual

of the pressing machine.

• For a correct pressing, the jaws shall not present

damages in the pressing zone.

• Make sure the dimension of the jaw matches the

diameter of the joint intended to be pressed.

Attention!

If the diameter of the pressing jaw is lower than the

one of the joint to be pressed, the pressing jaw will

be damaged and the coupling may not be completely

tight.

1.3 Shear

• Check that the blade of the cutter is sharp and

without dents.

Attention!

Keep the fingers away from the blade.

1.2 Calibration/Countersinking

• Ensure that the calibration tool is not mis-shap-

ened or dented, since this would result in damage

the internal surface of the hose and the O-ring,

thus reducing the tightness of the coupling.

• Check that the tool and the countersinking cutter do

not rotate with respect to the grip.

If necessary, tighten the locknut.
