Be sure to unplug your guitar when not in use to avoid current drain on the
battery!
Installation instructions for Models:
EMG-707
Refer to the following diagram of the volume and tone configuration for your guitar. It’s recommended that if
you want to install other EMG products that you do the install per the diagrams included here, and get your
guitar working before adding accessories.
1) Disconnect the existing pickup from it’s volume and tone controls.
2) Remove the pickup and volume and tone control. Place the EMG volume and tone controls in the
instrument. Mount the EMG pickup in the mounting ring, install the quick connect cable, and route the
cable to the control cavity.
3) Solder the braid of the pickup cable to the case of the volume pot as shown in the diagram, and connect
the inner hot wire to the pot terminal as shown.
4) Remove the existing output jack and replace it with the supplied EMG jack. Solder the output wire of the
volume pot to the jack as shown in the diagram.
5) Solder the RED wire of the pickup to the RED wire of the battery clip, and cover the connection with the
heat shrink tubing provided.
6) Use some of the packaging foam that comes with the pickup to wrap around the battery. Put the clip on
the battery, and place the battery securely in the control cavity.
7) Test the instrument before closing up the control cavity. Using a small screwdriver, tap gently on the pickup
cover, while the instrument is plugged into an amplifier.
