Installation

3.4.2

Steam service

For steam service, do not blow down impulse piping through the transmitter. Flush the lines with the 
blocking valves closed and refill the lines with water before resuming measurement.

3.4.3

Side mounting

When the transmitter is mounted on its side, position the coplanar process flange to ensure proper 
venting or draining. Keep drain/vent connections on the bottom for gas service and on the top for liquid 
service.

3.4.4

Independent seals

The Rosemount 3051N Transmitter incorporates two independent seals between the process 
connection and the conduit connection.
