Before performing the following cleaning/ maintenance
operations, always switch off the appliance, unplug the power
cable (G) from the socket and allow the unit to completely cool,
including the lid (C), the essence container (D) and the steam
duct (I).
Cleaning of the water tank, the heating tank and lid
During normal use of the appliance, due to salts in the water,
scale deposits may form on the steam duct (I) and in the heating
tank (J). These deposits could form fairly quickly according to the
type of water, its hardness and frequency of use of the appliance.
The higher the water hardness, the faster the formation of
deposits. Deposits decrease performance and may impede
normal operation of the appliance. As such decalcify at least
once a week as follows:
1. Remove the lid (C) using the holding points (E).
2. Inside the tank, remove the steam duct (I) from its seat by
turning it clockwise (Fig. 6).
3. Refill the tank with cold drinking water.
4. Rinse several times, allowing the water to drain from the drain
point on the side of the appliance (L), taking care not to wet the
power cable (G) and the on/off switch (A) (Fig. 7).
5. Clean the heating unit (supply channel, heating tank and
resistance) (J) located at the centre of the water tank, removing
the calcium deposits.
6. After having removed any residual water, pour about 2 litres of
a solution made up of equal parts water and white wine vinegar
into the water tank. Reposition the lid (C) on the water tank (K)
and wait about 4 hours. Then gently shake the appliance for a
few minutes and remove any residues of calcium with a cloth.
Rinse the water tank (K) several times with drinking water, the lid
(C) and in particular the steam duct (I) and the heating tank (J).
Allow to drain and dry thoroughly with a soft 22 cloth the water
tank, the lid, the steam duct and its cover.
