Installing a Memory Module
Follow these steps to install DIMMs:
1. Remove the cover according to the instructions in “Removing the Cover” in Chapter 5.
2. Release the plastic retaining clips at each end of the socket by pressing the clips outward until
they snap open.
3. Orient a DIMM to the socket so the two notches in the DIMM connector are aligned with the
crossbars in the socket.
4. Press the DIMM straight into the socket until the retaining clips snap into place around the
ends of the DIMM.
5. Replace the system cover according to the instructions in “Replacing the Cover” in Chapter 5.
Removing a Memory Module
To remove memory modules, press the retaining clips outward simultaneously until the DIMM
disengages from the socket and then carefully remove the DIMM from the socket.
