TROUBLESHOOTING
Carry out the following checks before contacting a repair technician:
The refrigerator does not work.
Check if:
• the power cord is plugged in.
• the thermostat is in the OFF position.
The lighting does not work.
Check if:
• the power cord is plugged in.
• a fuse has tripped in the building.
• the bulb has come loose in its socket.
• the bulb has blown.
Food in the refrigerator freezes.
Check if:
• the thermostat is set too low.
• the food is in contact with the refrigeration element at the very rear of the appliance.
Food in the refrigerator is not cold.
Check if:
• the air vents in the refrigerator are blocked (this prevents circulation of cold air).
• the door is opened too often or is not closed properly.
• a large amount of food has just been put in the refrigerator.
• the thermostat is correctly set.
Water from defrosting runs out into the refrigerator or onto the floor.
Check if:
• the drain hole is blocked.
• the evaporation tray is in position.
The refrigerator makes unusual noises.
Check if:
• the refrigerator is set level.
• the refrigerator is in contact with the wall.
• the drip tray is inserted correctly.
Moisture forms in the refrigerator.
Check if:
• the air vents in the refrigerator are blocked.
• the door is frequently opened.
• the room is damp.
• the food is properly packaged.
• the refrigerator is correctly set for the ambient conditions.
The door cannot be closed completely.
Check if:
• the shelves are not pushed fully in or are crooked
• the door seals are dirty.
• the refrigerator is set level.
