The IrDA message format is as follows:

Start of header character (hex 01).
FMT 1
Indicates the format of the data stream.
Hex 4F: ASCII ‘O’ describes OBIS Codes.
FMT 2
Hex 42: ASCII ‘B’ for OBIS Codes
STX
Start of text character (hex 02).
DATA
Meter registration, security and status - complete with OBIS Codes.
ETX
End of text character (hex 03).
BCC
One’s complement binary checksum of all message bytes between SOH and ETX (inclusive) –
including OBIS Codes.

IrDA Transmission Table: Status and Billing Data
This table contains status and billing data that is transmitted over the IrDA port. The table cannot be
accessed via the manufacturing communications protocol. The table is made up of non-contiguous
memory. It includes data stored in RAM, ROM, and EEPROM.
