Connect the charger for 24 hours.
The red Indicator LED will be on while charging.
LOW MAIN bATTeRy
(battery Powered Systems)
If the ElkGuard is not run off a permanent connection to AC
power, the main battery should provide approximately 3 or more
month's operation before it must be recharged.
Whenever the "Low Main Battry" message is displayed, it indi-
cates that it is time to charge the main battery.
Plug the charger into a 110V AC power outlet and plug the
charging connector into the ElkGuard for 24 hours.
GSM Cellular Communicator
GSM Communicator
(Internal).
The ElkGuard has an onboard GSM communicator
which communicates with your central monitoring
station using the GSM Cellular Telephone Network.
The communicator is setup and programmed by
your installer at the time of installation. It does not
need any maintenance, but should be tested when
you perform your regular system test.
The communicator needs an active GSM SIM card
to operate.
LOW MAIN bATTeRy
(AC Powered Systems)
If the ElkGuard has a permanent connection to AC power, a
low battery condition may indicate that your ElkGuard needs
servicing. Contact your ElkGuard installer.
Important: Each time ElkGuard is plugged into the AC charger a 24 hr fast charge cycle is begun. The unit automati-
cally drops back to a maintenance or "trickle" charge after 24 hrs . However, repeated plugging or unplugging of the
AC charger without sufficient time for the battery charge to be depleted may cause damage to the battery by overcy-
cling it. For this reason, please do not connect the AC charger until the unit indicates a Low Main Battery OR unless
the unit has operated on battery only for at least several weeks.
