Keep Working
• Hold the drill firmly with both hands to maintain control if the bit jams or slips.
• To prevent the wood from splitting, drill pilot holes in it before definitively installing the screws
METALS PERFORATION
BY DRILLING HARD METALS
• Apply lubricant, such as cutting oil, to the tip of the bit.
• Start with a small hole and then increase it to the necessary size. To avoid damaging the edges of the bit,
make sure that it is effectively cutting and not turning in band inside of the hole.
• Keep enough pressure on the bit to continue drilling the material.
PERFORATION OF MASONRY
BY PERFORATING MASONRY
• Masonry may be fragile, so be careful not to push it too hard or
crack the material.
• To avoid damaging the edges of the bit, apply enough pressure to keep the bit cutting
and not rotating in band inside the hole.
• Bricks and similar soft materials require less pressure, but concrete requires much more.
WOOD DRILLING
Use spiral drill bits to drill holes in wood. Make sure the bits are sharp. Remove the drill bits from the hole
frequently to remove chips from the grooves, since an overloaded drill bit can become excessively hot.
TIPS FOR OPTIMUM USE
DRILLING:
• Keep the correct amount of pressure in a straight line with the drill. If the pressure is insufficient, the drill
bit It will rotate in band, and if it is excessive, the motor can drown.
• Drill more slowly and decrease the pressure on the tool as soon as the drill goes to break the surface of
the work piece. This will prevent jamming and leave a cleaner hole.
• Use a block of wood to support workpieces that may splinter.
