Hotspot Disclaimer

The reflective properties of the WraithVeil rear projection material may cause a hot spot. This is normal for this material

and thus, the following should be considered to reduce the possibility of having a hotspot.

What is a hotspot on a projection screen?

A Hot Spot is a bright spot that is visible from anywhere you view the screen from. This is a common occurrence in rear

projection screens; essentially a hot spot is when you can see the projector bulb through the screens surface.

•  Reduce the output power of the projector (choose a lower lumens setting like Cinema)

•  Avoid using ultra/short-throw projectors since the bulb will be very close to the material

•  Move the projector further away from the screen. This will increase the throw distance of the projector, and will

effectively reduce the brightness of the image.

•  Reposition the projector relative to the audience. Raising the projector’s height or lowering it so it is not projecting

directly on the material. Use vertical lens shift to achieve this and correct it with keystone.

•  Position it off to the side will help relocate the hot spot so that it would only be visible from a location not within the

   “audience”.
