ADDITIONAL SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRASS
TRIMMERS
▪
Grass trimmers must not be operated by children
or persons not trained in the operation of these
tools.
▪
Wear sturdy shoes or boots to protect your feet.
▪
Wear long trousers to protect your legs.
▪
Inspect the appliance before use. Do not use the
appliance if it is damaged.
▪
If the appliance is damaged, have it repaired by an
authorised repairer.
▪
Do not use the appliance in the presence of
children and/or animals.
▪
Only use the appliance in the daytime or under
good lighting.
▪
Never use the appliance without the safety
features.
▪
Before using the appliance, remove twigs, stones,
wire and any other obstacle from the working area.
▪
Only use the appliance in a vertical position, with
the cutting line pointing towards the ground. Never
tilt the appliance into a different position.
▪
Always keep hands and feet away from the cutting
line.
▪
Avoid touching the cutting line.
▪
Before putting down the appliance, switch it off and
wait until the cutting line stops completely on its
own. Never attempt to stop the cutting line yourself.
▪
Only use the type of cutting line recommended by
the manufacturer. Never use cutting lines made of
metal or fishing line.
▪
After use, always safely store the appliance, out of
reach of children.
Behavior and work technique
- Work only in good visibility and light conditions.
- Adopt a safe position.
- Watch out for obstacles, risk of tripping!
- Danger of slipping on slopes and rough terrain!
- Never cut above the shoulders.
- Never cut while standing on a ladder.
- Never work on unstable supports.
- Clean the cutting area of all foreign objects such
as stones, metal parts etc. Foreign objects can
rebound (risk of injury), they damage the cutting
tool.
- The cutting tool must have reached full working
speed before starting to cut.
- While working, move the electric edger from right
to left in a semi-circle (as for a scythe).
- Walk, never run with the machine.
Warning! Stop the edger and the
battery before adjusting the
machine or cleaning it or after
striking a foreign object, in order
to inspect the machine for
possible damage;
if the machine starts to vibrate
abnormally, for immediate
checking.
When you stop the edger, the line
continues to turn for a few
seconds.
Caution - do not touch the
rotating cutting line.
